Office Staff & Décor Consultants

Our dedicated office personnel are available to answer questions, manage customer financing, schedule delivery and service calls. In addition, they are steadily busy with accounts receivable, accounts payable, order entry, payroll, status checks and a myriad of other responsibilities.

Patty Wilson has worked in retail for the last 28 years. She says “I’m a people person” and it shows in how much she cares about helping people find what will be a perfect fit for their home. Customers have told Patti that they are comfortable shopping with us because they know that if they had a problem, we we’re here to help take care of it.

Linda Brown has a certificate in Fashion Merchandising, has 15 years of experience selling furniture. Linda previously had her own children’s clothing store and was a buyer for Brody’s Department Store. She said that customers frequently comment on our nice selection and that they like the relaxed atmosphere.

Jane Scott, our accessory buyer and showroom decorator, has been a part of our family for 22 years. Jane extends her design style by bringing items to your home helping you not just visualize but actually see how your potential items will fit into your home. She is also our Accessory Buyer and Showroom Decorator.

Travis McCann is our Main Warehouse Manager and Expediter. A 15 year veteran of Furniture World, he's an expert in furniture construction and performance. McCann can also be found on the showroom floor, sharing important product knowledge helping you find what is best suited for your lifestyle.

Carol Evans (Not Pictured), an art school graduate with an associate’s in Interior Design, is our newest décor consultant. With 30 years of experience in Interior Design and Sales, Evans has been a member of our team for two years. Customers have told her that they like the friendliness of our store plus the experience and knowledge of the sales staff.

Patty Swartz (Not Pictured), who has a bachelor’s in Sociology and certified to teach K-6, has 20 years of experience with Furniture World. Patty is committed to her career with Furniture World with 20 years of excellence. She says its because “People like our store because of its homey atmosphere and no-pressure sales.” We like to help our customers find what they want, not pressure them into buying what they don’t want.”

Indiana

Kathy Radic (pictured with Bernandette) spent 25 years in the Beauty Industry before returning to school for a degree in Business. Kathy says that the “combination of my experience as a hair stylist and a formal education helps me to better understand our customer’s wants and needs. It also taught me to successfully communicate and create beautiful solutions to any design concerns.”

Bernadette Smiley (pictured with Kathy) has been with Furniture World Carpet One for 8 years. She's the former owner of Smiley’s Furniture Gallery for 19 years along with her husband, Metro, brings 5 years of experience in the home décor business. With 35 years of experience in the home décor business, you can trust the information that she gladly provides.

Faye Kershishnik, our lead designer is a member of the Interior Design Society (IDS) and has an associate degree in design. Through her experience Kershishnik helps customers complete their design challenges by offering one on one design help.

Doug Klingensmith's (pictured with Cindy) previous positions started with the warehouse in furniture and flooring, moved onto warehouse manager and then into sales. Doug has extensive knowledge of all ends of the business from shipping, receiving, delivery, service and sales, providing our customers with complete help from showroom to home installation.

Cindy Cook (pictured with Doug), Operations Manager, started off cleaning every nook and cranny of our Kittanning showroom and quickly moved on to flooring sales in Indiana. After our flooring/furniture showroom opened in Indiana, she soon added furniture expertise to her repertoire, in addition to designing ceramic layouts, furniture and flooring décor and working with many contractors on commercial and residential properties.

John McCann, started his 26 year career with Furniture World Carpet One at our Kittanning location. In 1999, he became the manager of our Indiana location. He has professional training from Carpet One and the Tom Hokpins International Program. Conducting training sessions for the staff in product knowledge, customer service and warehouse/delivery operations, McCann helps our sales team be the right team for you.

Warehouse Crew

The Warehouse Crews are vital to our operations. They load and unload truckloads furniture and flooring daily. They carefully inspect, assemble, clean, detail and distribute furniture all day long.

Delivery Crew & Furniture Repair Specialists

These guys have a lot on their shoulders (pun intended) and their goal is a perfect delivery. In fact, one of the men (Bill) recently suggested Door Jam Guards to protect your furniture on delivery. They were purchased and put to use immediately.

Here’s a negative comment that made a great lesson for our younger generation. A customer called to say, “it was not appreciated by her husband to be called “Buddy” by the delivery crew. This provided a great opportunity and I am thankful to our customer for this information.

The crew was surprised, thinking that they were just being friendly. Now they have a more detailed understanding of how to show politeness and respect.
